Brixton is rapidly becoming south London’s vegan Mecca as vegan-friendly options in the area continue to grow. And now, the world’s very first plant-based 'bleeding' burger joint has opened its doors there.
The world’s first ‘bleeding’ plant-based burger joint has opened its doors at POP Brixton, providing nostalgic diner-style fast food, modern energy, good vibes and great tunes – vegan style!
Halo Burger is the only restaurant in the world that specialises in the Beyond Burger; the world’s first plant-based burger that looks, cooks and tastes like a fresh beef burger, complete with ‘blood’. The team at Halo also spent over a year and a half creating and globally taste-testing a secret seasoning to perfectly complement the burger.
The restaurant’s signature burger, ‘The Halo Burger’ is two 1/8 lb hand-made patties layered with white onion, melted American style plant-based cheese, a slice of beef tomato, crisp lettuce, and tangy signature house-made sauce. Other items on the menu include the Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Cheeseburger, Pink Salt Fries, and Don’t Have a Cow Fries.
With the opening of Halo Burger, Brixton is now the perfect place for a weekend vegan food crawl.
How about starting off with brunch at Katakata; a welcoming café with a fresh selection of savoury and sweet vegan crepes, then grabbing one of the “naughtiest vegan cakes in town” from Ms Cupcake; Brixton’s award-winning vegan bakery.
And for dinner, the vegan-friendly options are endless… There’s Eat of Eden; a 100% vegan West Indian and European fusion restaurant with everything from savoury curries to rich chocolate desserts, Franco Manca; the most famous sourdough pizzas south of the river, and Café Van Gogh; a social enterprise that reinvests its profits back to dedicated community programmes.
