This weekend saw the fantastic VegFest Bristol return at their new venue of Ashton Gate Stadium. It was here we visited the Koko Dairy Free stall and spotted TWO new vegan cheeses proudly on display!
That’s right. Alongside their recognised dairy-free yoghurt and milk products was a dairy-free alternative to cheddar – labelled lactose and soya free with added calcium and vitamins D2 & B12. And next to this new “mature but mellow” cheese, was a cream cheese spread alternative in a round tub.
Our source discovered that this new range will be launched in Waitrose stores on Monday 4 June, which coincides with the retailer’s announcement that they are unveiling a completely vegan chilled section across their branches on the same day. See the original Instagram post below.
June 4th, Waitrose and it's amazing ♥️♥️♥️🤤🤤🤤 the texture on this is exactly like between cheddar and Lancashire (crumbly cheese) not the usually sweaty mess of standard vegan cheeses 😂😂😂😂 . . . #veganlifestyle #vegansofinstagram#vegansofig #eggfree #meatfree #foodshare #foodstagram#veganfoodshare #veganfoodporn #healthy #eatclean#vegetarian #homemade #veganfood #whatveganseat#vegan #dairyfree #crueltyfree#crueltyfreelifestyle #crueltyfreeliving #plantpower#plantpowered #veganhome #veganjunkfood #veganuary #vegancheese #koko
This is very exciting news and we cannot wait to try the new cheeses as well as see what other new vegan products may be announced as part of this Waitrose expansion!
