Ecotricity to Continue Their Support for Veganuary in 2016!

For the second year running, Ecotricity – 100% Green Electricity and Britain’s Greenest Gas – are supporting Veganuary.

Dale Vince, Ecotricity’s owner, is vegan and runs his business in line with his ethics. His reasons for supporting those trying vegan this January are clear:

If you’re looking for a reason to go vegan for the month, there’s a smorgasbord to choose from, whether it’s for the environment, for personal health, or for animal welfare. And Veganuary is not about giving something up – it’s actually about freeing yourself from a diet restricted by meat and experiencing a new world of food.

Energy, Transport and Food are the three biggest causes of unsustainability – together they are responsible for 80% of everyone’s personal carbon emissions. That means we can all make a huge difference through how we choose to spend our money: how we light and heat our homes, how we get around, and what we choose to eat.

That’s why choosing green energy is so important, too. There’s no excuse to keep supporting fossil fuels through our energy bills. At Ecotricity, we have the greenest energy in the industry, the best customer service and also ethical pricing. And the more people join us, the more new sources of green energy we build – that’s something worth supporting.

Wherever you live in Britain, you can power your home with Ecotricity, so why no consider making the switch today? What’s more, if you select Ecotricity as your energy provider they’ll donate up to £60 to Veganuary! Find out more here.

Ecotricity live up to their green credentials in more ways than one, with campaigns like their Sustainable Food Fortnight. For the first two weeks of September 2015, Ecotricity staff are encouraged to take part in a series of events and competitions that fit within the sustainable food theme.

There are recipe swaps, lunches, info days – including growing your own allotment veg or taking a vegan challenge, and even an ‘eco-harvest festival’. It’s a fantastic way for everyone to learn a little about sustainable living while having fun at the same time. Follow them on Facebook today and see if you can nab some tips for inspiring your workplace!
