A former English teacher turned animal campaigner, she was horrified to witness the treatment of animals on factory farms and in slaughterhouses. Together with her Co-Founder Matthew, they launched the Veganuary campaign in 2014 to inspire and support people to try vegan for the month of January. After 17 years of working in the window and door industry, his priorities and focus changed when he became vegan in 2011. With a drive to reduce animal suffering, Matthew used his business and marketing skills to launch the Veganuary campaign in 2014 with his Co-Founder Jane. Matthew served as a Board Member and Chair of the charity until 2023. He works as a vegan entrepreneur and continues to spread the vegan message globally. He has decided now is the time to do something else, and is going back to university to study Economic Policy. Bart has been vegan since around 2017.
