Less than a tablespoon oil – I use olive oil or sunflower oil
1/2 a teaspoon of Rye/mustard seeds
1 pinch of Jiru/cumin seeds
1 pinch of Hing/asafetida
1 pinch of turmeric
This is one of my favourites when I want something different for breakfast! It’s a savoury salad which I have with ‘Indian’ tea and Rotli. (Rotli is also known as Roti or Chapatti.)

Método
Grate the carrots
Slice the chilli
Put the oil in a pan
Add the Rye, Jiru and Hing
When the seeds pop, add the grated carrots and chilli
Stir
Add the turmeric
Add salt to taste
Cook for a few minutes
Enjoy with another meal, have it with Rotli like I do, or get creative and perhaps use it as a filling in a sandwich 🙂
