Tambi\u00e9n puede provenir de los microbios que viven en el suelo, pero debido al agotamiento de los minerales y a la desertizaci\u00f3n del suelo, ya no es posible obtener suficiente de la tierra en la que se cultivan los alimentos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aunque la B12 est\u00e1 presente en los productos de origen animal, la producen las bacterias del interior de los animales y no los propios animales. Dado que las pr\u00e1cticas ganaderas modernas implican mantener a los animales en el interior durante la mayor parte de su vida, muchos animales de granja no pueden obtener la B12 a trav\u00e9s del suelo y la obtienen en su lugar a trav\u00e9s de piensos suplementados<sup>1,2<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lo que sucede es que \u201clos animales no humanos la ingieren de pastos colonizados con esta bacteria, almacen\u00e1ndola en su cuerpo. Actualmente hay industrias ganaderas que suplementan su alimento, que finalmente llega a las personas\u201d, explican las nutricionistas de Achinuv.&nbsp;En este contexto, \u201cuna persona vegana o vegetariana, solo consume el suplemento, salt\u00e1ndose el intermediario\u201d, precisan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La carne y los productos l\u00e1cteos a menudo se promocionan como fuentes naturales de vitamina B12, pero la realidad es que los seres humanos obtienen la vitamina B12 de los animales porque \u00e9stos reciben suplementos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo reconocer si mis niveles de B12 est\u00e1n bajos?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Desde Achinuv explican que, usualmente los ex\u00e1menes de laboratorio vienen con valores de referencia menores a los que se espera para asegurar la cantidad de B12 activa en sangre. \u201cEs com\u00fan que el paciente revise su propio examen de B12, lea un valor cercano a 200 ug\/dl y determine por s\u00ed solo que los ex\u00e1menes est\u00e1n adecuados. Pero seg\u00fan estudios y consensos profesionales, determinan que el m\u00ednimo de B12 s\u00e9rica debiera ser sobre 490 pg\/mL (360&nbsp;pmol\/L)\u201d, detallan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" src=\"https:\/\/veganuary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/laboratory-g17f8e521c_1280.jpg\" alt=\"Blood test\" class=\"wp-image-175434\" srcset=\"https:\/\/veganuary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/laboratory-g17f8e521c_1280.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/veganuary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/laboratory-g17f8e521c_1280-1200x800.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/veganuary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/laboratory-g17f8e521c_1280-400x267.jpg 400w, https:\/\/veganuary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/laboratory-g17f8e521c_1280-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/veganuary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/laboratory-g17f8e521c_1280-800x533.jpg 800w, https:\/\/veganuary.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/laboratory-g17f8e521c_1280-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Recuerda siempre realizarte tus ex\u00e1menes de sangre<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfEXISTEN FUENTES VEGANAS DE B12?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Aunque algunos alimentos de origen vegetal est\u00e1n enriquecidos con vitamina B12, como los cereales, las leches vegetales, el pan y la levadura nutricional, es posible que no obtengamos una cantidad fiable s\u00f3lo de estos alimentos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por ello, cualquier persona que adopte una dieta basada en plantas debe tomar un suplemento regular de vitamina B12 adem\u00e1s de consumir alimentos enriquecidos para estar seguro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfPUEDEN LOS VEGANOS TENER DEFICIENCIA DE B12?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Las nutricionistas expertas de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/achinuv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Achinuv<\/a> explican que, a diferencia de otras vitaminas, la B12 es almacenada en grandes cantidades en el organismo, principalmente el h\u00edgado, por lo que los dep\u00f3sitos pueden durar a\u00f1os antes de agotarse y generar sintomatolog\u00eda.&nbsp;Nuestro cuerpo puede almacenar vitamina B12 durante 2 a 5 a\u00f1os, pero debemos asegurarnos de consumirla con regularidad, independientemente de la dieta. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los s\u00edntomas evidenciados en la deficiencia de esta vitamina se dividen en 3 tipos: sintomatolog\u00eda an\u00e9mica (fatiga, cansancio, mareos y debilidad); alteraciones digestivas (inflamaci\u00f3n de la lengua o glositis, diarrea y p\u00e9rdida del apetito); y alteraciones neurol\u00f3gicas (irritabilidad, mala memoria, falta de concentraci\u00f3n, hormigueos o parestesia y depresi\u00f3n).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan el NHS, la carencia de vitamina B12 es m\u00e1s com\u00fan en adultos mayores de 65 a\u00f1os, ya que la absorci\u00f3n disminuye a medida que envejecemos<sup>3<\/sup>. Tambi\u00e9n existe un mayor riesgo de carencia durante el embarazo<sup>4<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo saber si me estoy suplementando de manera adecuada?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>En el mercado existen muchas formas de suplementaci\u00f3n, por lo que lo m\u00e1s relevante, como se\u00f1al\u00e1bamos antes, siempre es asesorarse por un especialista, que pueda orientar cu\u00e1les son las necesidades de cada organismo y as\u00ed mismo, las dosis y tiempos requeridos para cada suplemento.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dentro de los errores m\u00e1s comunes, desde Achinuv se\u00f1alan el automedicarse con micro dosis de B12 en multivitam\u00ednicos o complejos B, con 12 mcg de B12, cuando la dosis solo de mantenci\u00f3n es casi cinco veces mayor. \u201cAplica el mismo principio para alimentos fortificados y vapeadores, que, si bien contienen B12, no se sabe cu\u00e1nto puede pasar a la sangre a trav\u00e9s de la inhalaci\u00f3n. Al no tener suficiente evidencia, no se recomienda para asegurar niveles normales de B12 en sangre\u201d, explican las nutricionistas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Si soy vegano o vegana \u00bfEn qu\u00e9 alimentos puedo encontrar B12?<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Nori, spirulina, tempeh, hongos y otros aportan B12, pero no son suficientes porque parte de la vitamina que entregan es inactiva. \u201cSe ha detallado en diversos estudios que los compuestos de vitamina B12 en los alimentos de origen vegetal revelan que son inactivos en humanos e inclusive pueden afectar el resultado al realizarse ex\u00e1menes de sangre, por ende, si se lleva una alimentaci\u00f3n basada en plantas o vegetariana en todas sus opciones se debe suplementar con B12 para asegurar el consumo adecuado de esta importante vitamina\u201d, precisan desde Achinuv.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">LA IMPORTANCIA DE UNA DIETA BIEN PLANIFICADA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Est\u00e1 ampliamente aceptado que una dieta vegana bien planificada puede satisfacer nuestras necesidades nutricionales en todas las etapas de la vida<sup>5<\/sup>.
