La soja en legumbre (granos de soja) contiene isoflavonas, que pertenecen a un grupo de compuestos llamado fitoestr\u00f3genos. Dado que las isoflavonas se unen a los mismos receptores que el estr\u00f3geno, se ha difundido una idea equivocada acerca de la soja. La conclusi\u00f3n ser\u00eda que las isoflavonas no son lo mismo que los estr\u00f3genos y tampoco causan el mismo efecto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es m\u00e1s, en un estudio realizado en 2010 se analiz\u00f3 si la soja produc\u00eda efectos similares a los del estr\u00f3geno en los hombres y disminu\u00eda los niveles de testosterona.
