Mixed-race British Asian vocalist, songwriter and model Casey Rain (also known as S-Endz) is best known as one-quarter of the world's most successful Indian electropop band Swami. After coming off a gruelling world tour in 2009, Casey decided to become vegan, for both health and moral reasons.
BBC Radio 1 DJ Nihal calls Casey “one of the most electrifying performers I have ever seen”, and the Birmingham Music Archive compared him to Prince and Outkast.
With the recent release of the new Swami single, ‘Do It Again’ – it’s clear we’ll be seeing a lot more of this outspoken vegan performer! He can be found on Twitter as @CaseyRain.
“Becoming vegan was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It didn’t take long for me to start feeling healthier, with more energy and stamina, my skin improved, and much more! Touring is especially tough on your body, so it’s really important to maintain a healthy diet, and for me being vegan is a cornerstone of that. At this point I’ve been vegan for 5 years, and the more I learn about what they really do to those poor animals, the more concrete my resolve to stay vegan becomes. I truly believe that you are what you eat, and my body is not a graveyard. I’m really proud to support Veganuary, and I hope that it makes people realize what I quickly did – that veganism really isn’t that hard, it’s not extreme, it’s simply making the compassionate choice to do what’s right for your body and what’s right for the animals we share this planet with. All living creatures are beautiful and amazing in their own way – and they simply don’t exist for us to exploit them. Don’t be afraid to change the world. Revolution always starts with one person.” – Casey Rain
