Charlotte became vegan after discovering the incredible health-affirming benefits of following a Vegan diet:
For me, self-education transformed my outlook upon diet and health. Prior to my reading, I had no sense of the connection between what I put into my body and my health. It’s not something I was taught in school or advised upon by medical professionals, but it seems almost counterproductive that the general population are so unaware of how harmful meat and dairy are. I became interested in veganism after reading The China Study and How Not To Die, after which I became obsessed with finding scientific literature supporting veganism as the most healthful diet you can follow. I’ve managed to help my friends and family to become vegan, and their stories inspire my every written word.
“From health, to the environment, and every single animal’s life in-between – being vegan has completely transformed my perspective. I look at animals the same way I look at my fellow friends, and I am passionate beyond explanation to help others make the connection between what they have on their plates and the animals they so willingly admire.
As an avid weightlifter and yogi, being vegan has allowed me to connect my mind to my body, and enabled my strength and recovery to thrive and grow. I no longer feel weighed down by the moral dilemmas that I experienced as a vegetarian, and I feel truly enlightened by how much compassion, patience, respect and consideration I have gained from being vegan. There’s nothing in this world which creates a more harmonious balance between life and nature than by choosing to be vegan.
