Richie Kul is an American actor and model most noted for his star turn in the critically acclaimed movie "Pearls of the Far East".
A vegetarian since the age of 14, Richie made the shift to veganism three years ago and has been vocal in extolling the virtues and benefits of going cruelty free. Leveraging his modelling background and channeling it to repeated good use, Richie frequently donates his time and image to international animal welfare campaigns for Change For Animals Foundation, Animals Asia, Soi Dog, Compassion Over Killing and PETA as a spokesperson and ambassador for causes ranging from ending the bear bile and dog meat trades to advocating for greater compassion for farm animals. On the transition from vegetarian to vegan, Richie notes that it was long overdue and that “as a committed animal lover, it made logical and compassionate sense to take that next crucial step for my health, the planet and most importantly, for our animal friends.” He is often attributed as saying that “as human beings endowed with great intellectual and moral capacity, we ought to be caretakers of our fellow animals rather than ruthless exploiters of them.”
Dispelling the pervasive myth of vegans as emaciated and nutritionally deficient, Richie is a shining example that strength of conviction and body can go hand in hand.
