Pret Launches New Vegan Treats for Autumn

As if Pret hasn’t already spoiled us enough with a spectacular vegan range in its shops – and opened three veggie-only cafés in London – it’s now announced even more vegan options. We promise you’re going to love these vegan delights, hitting stores on 25 September

Almond Butter Bites to see you through the colder months

Pret’s existing Dark Chocolate & Almond Butter vegan cookie has been such a hit that the ingredients feature heavily in the chain cafe’s new range of sweet treats; almond butter bites – little bites of dark chocolate filled with almond butter (yes we’re drooling too right now), dark chocolate salted almonds, and a coconut and mango bowl. Here’s the lowdown on each:

Almond Butter Bites (£1.45): Little bites of almond butter-filled dark chocolate, with a dash of sea salt. Hailed by Pret as the perfect afternoon pick-me-up (it’s ok to need these every afternoon, right?).

Dark Chocolate Salted Almonds (£1.45): If the previous treats are a little too decadent for an everyday fix, this bag of roasted almonds sprinkled with sea salt, a layer of dark chocolate and a dusting of cocoa powder, sounds like the perfect vegan energy boost.

Coconut & Mango Bowl (£2.99): If chocolate’s not your thing, Pret is also launching a coconut yoghurt bowl which features freshly sliced banana and crunchy granola, topped with chunks of mango and pomegranate seeds. It might be autumn but this sounds like summer in a bowl!

Meanwhile, if you need to warm your cockles as the longer nights approach, two new vegan soup flavours also join the new product range. First up is the Pea & Mint Soup (£3.60), which includes a blend of vibrant garden peas and stock, with a touch of mint and red chilli. Chard has been added to provide a ‘subtle earthiness.’

Next up is the Tuscan Bean Soup (£3.60), packed with haricot beans, barlotti beans, carrot, kale, tomato and quinoa.

Both soups are gluten-free as well as vegan, under 250 calories, and for every full-size pot sold Pret will donate 10p to the Pret Foundation Trust.

Not one to miss out on seasonal drinks, Pret is joining in with the pumpkin spice latte trend and launching its own version of the Halloween inspired drink. Priced at £2.85, it’s vegan if ordered with soya or rice-coconut milk and is a warming infusion of pumpkin, cinnamon and clove spiced coffee. Take a reusable cup to receive 50p off your order.

Hannah Dolan, Head of Food Development at Pret, said:

“Our almond butter snacks are some of the most popular new items at Pret – our Dark Chocolate & Almond Butter cookie (the vegan cookie) has had a big thumbs up from our customers. We’re excited to introduce more chocolatey and almond butter vegan snacks, as well as a gluten-free Almond Butter & Jam Brownie, alongside a variety of new products.”
