Essa terra agr\u00edcola tem que vir de algum lugar, e frequentemente \u00e9 retirada da natureza.<\/p>\n\n<p>Nos \u00faltimos anos, mais de 80% do desmatamento no Brasil, foi para pastagem de animais de cria\u00e7\u00e3o,<sup>4<\/sup>  e ainda mais florestas s\u00e3o destru\u00eddas para dar lugar a cultivos para alimentar os animais em fazendas ao redor do mundo. O desmatamento \u00e9 grave por muitas raz\u00f5es. Ele empurra as esp\u00e9cies selvagens para a extin\u00e7\u00e3o. Desloca os povos ind\u00edgenas. Impulsiona as mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas. E nos leva a um contato cada vez mais pr\u00f3ximo com animais silvestres e quaisquer v\u00edrus que eles possam abrigar, aumentando o risco de outras pandemias.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>O colapso catastr\u00f3fico do clima e as pandemias globais s\u00e3o problemas ser\u00edssimos, mas n\u00e3o s\u00e3o inevit\u00e1veis. Se agirmos agora, o futuro pode ser melhor.<\/strong>  Portanto, vamos entrar 2021 com positividade e determina\u00e7\u00e3o para fazer tudo o que pudermos para proteger o nosso planeta, seus espa\u00e7os naturais e a sa\u00fade e bem-estar de todos os seus habitantes.
