London’s first plant-based diner, Rudy’s, landed in Camden’s Stables Market in 2018, and quickly became known as the go to one stop shop for veganised versions of classic American junk food. Chow down on everything from meat-free burgers and giant seitan hot dogs, to melt-your-mind dairy-free milkshakes and pastrami-packed sandwiches, all conceptualised by Co-Owner and Head Chef mastermind Matthew Foster.
Proving veganism and versatility can go hand in hand, November 2020 saw the launch of Rudy’s Vegan Butcher on Islington’s Upper Street, the first of its kind in the UK. Inviting locals to stock up on homemade pastrami, dirty burger patties, cheeze sauce, rack of jack ribs and many other vegan delights. Matthew loves the challenge of creating alternative meats and started out by making these goodies for specials at the diner. Now, anyone can grab up these vegan treats and get creative with them in their own kitchens. The vegan butcher products and a range of DIY kits are also available for nationwide delivery.
