Bill McCarthy is an American weightlifter. He competes at national level and has qualified for international competition including the Arnold Sports festival three times.
He’s also a Strength and Conditioning Coach and runs his own Powerlifting Team Called “Get The Lift Powerlifting”.
He became vegan over three years ago after trying the Engine 2 Diet 28 day Challenge and has not looked back. The only supplement he takes is B12 and finds he can get all the other nutrients he needs from a healthy, whole foods vegan diet.
He promotes the diet as part of his Strength and Conditioning coaching and commented in an interview with Vegan BodyBuilding:
Yes, I have had acouple of my clients try it because of the results I had and all of them have never went back.
He weighs 110kg and his personal best lifts are 390 lb (177kg) bench press, and 606 lbs (275kg) squat and 630 lb (286kg) deadlift.
