Veggie Pret to Open First Branch Outside London

The city of Manchester will be the first location outside London to host a Veggie Pret

While some high street coffee chains have been slow to provide savoury vegan options, one store has left the others in its wake. In recent years, Pret a Manger has steadily grown its vegetarian and vegan offerings, with tasty sandwiches, salads and soups appearing in all its branches.

Not content just to provide these options alongside other dishes, Pret went one better and opened three entirely vegetarian/vegan branches in London – and now it’s extending its reach outside the capital with a brand new store opening in Manchester this October.

The decision to move beyond London came after hundreds of requests via social media, asking for Veggie Prets in other cities. Situated on Manchester’s busy Deansgate, the branch will be open seven days a week, and its arrival will coincide with the launch of the company’s new vegetarian and vegan menu – which will appear in the three London Veggie Prets at the same time.

Currently on the Veggie Pret menu there are over 15 different savoury and sweet vegan options, including: macaroni cheese (made with a vegan béchamel sauce); curried chickpea and chutney granary sandwich; avocado and chipotle chickpea salad wrap; vegan ragu & red pepper hot wrap; Mexican avocado flatbread; dairy-free chocolate chia pot; dark chocolate and almond butter cookie – as well as a wide range of fresh fruit and drinks.

According to Pret, the new menu will feature ‘veggie classics’ alongside new dishes, including vegan treats such as almond butter bites and dark chocolate salted almonds.

Hannah Dolan, Head of Food Development at Pret A Manger said:

“When we asked customers on social media where they’d like to see the next Veggie Pret, Manchester was the top request. Veggie Pret is still growing – and we want customers to keep telling us what they think, and where they’d like to see Veggie Pret next.”

So if you’d like a Veggie Pret in your town/city, you know what to do – leave a comment for Pret on Facebook, Instagram or send them a tweet!
