Yes, we know, the clue is in the name but even carveries know it’s wise to put on vegan options. You will have to skip the starter but there are three main meals to choose from: Portabello Mushroom Bullseye Tart, Grilled Aubergine Stack with a tomato sauce and topped with a vegan white sauce, and Root Vegetable Roast under an oat & cranberry crumb. Vegans should ask for the vegetables without the glaze (who needs their veg polished up anyway?) instead of eating those on the carvery deck. But the good news is that there is a vegan Chocolate & Cherry Torte for dessert - just ask for it without cream or ice cream.
- Portobello Mushroom Bullseye Tart
A hand crimpled suet pastry case, filled with an indulgent mushroom sauce, topped with a whole portobello mushroom.
- Grilled Aubergine Stack
Grilled aubergine and Mediterranean style vegetables combined in a tomato and oregano sauce topped with a vegan white sauce and breadcrumbs.
- Root Vegetable Roast
Shredded carrots and parsnips, a mix of mushrooms, swede, apricots topped with an oat and cranberry crumb
- Vegetarian Gravy
- Roast Potatoes
- Steamed Vegetables
- Chocolate & Cherry Torte
Moist, Belgian chocolate cake made with Bramley apple & cherry compote served with chocolate sauce. Ask for no cream or ice cream.
(Ask the staff about the potatoes and vegetables as they may be cooked/dressed in animal fat/butter. We understand they can steam vegetables for you and bring them out with your main course.)
