This yummy banana berry smoothie is an easy way to beat the mid-morning munchies! Start the day with a glass and follow it up with a bowl of my ginger nut crunch muesli. This heavenly combo will easily keep you full until early afternoon.

Feel free to change the recipe depending on your mood or seasonal ingredients available. Freezing fruit stops any wastage, and means your smoothie's ice-cold and ready to drink. It's a deliciously healthy way to start your day.

Preparation

Makes 1 large glass

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups
Cooking Instructions

Add the milk and fruit to the blender.

* Top Tip *
As soon as I get up, I add all of the ingredients to the blender and leave them for at least 10 minutes (the longer the better). The frozen banana (and berries if they’re frozen) start to defrost, meaning fewer lumpy bits when you blitz it all together; most blenders can’t handle fruit straight from the freezer.

Blend for 10 seconds, pause and give it another 10-15 second blitz to make sure you’ve mixed all of the fruit thoroughly.

* Time Saving Tip *
In a hurry? Blend fresh fruit, pour into your cup and drop in ice cubes to chill it on the run.

The smoothie is ready to be enjoyed, and you’re halfway to combating those munchies!

* Superfood Tip *
I always sprinkle a selection of powders into my smoothies for extra goodness – simply add 1 rounded tsp before you blend:

  • Maca
  • Ground linseed
  • Chia seeds
  • Baobab
  • Acai
  • Lucuma
