At the end of each challenge, we collect data via our Participant Survey so that we can track our impact, assess our communications and rapidly grow our support offerings and resources.

We believe that Veganuary is one of the most innovative and comprehensive vegan resources available – providing honest, clear, and expert advice in a non-judgemental and supportive manner. We tailor this website to suit our participants and followers – adding the content that gets requested via social media and direct messages. Please keep giving us your feedback, as your needs shape what we do.

How did we do this year?

  • 12,800 people officially signed up to Veganuary.com for January 2015, with over 4,000 coming from the States.
  • The UK had the second highest number of participants, and Australia was third.
  • Mexico, Spain, France and Germany all featured in the top ten.

As well as tracking the age, gender and eating habits of all our participants, our follow-up survey gave us the following information:

  • 71% of respondents felt an improvement in their health
  • 65% discovered something they didn’t previously know about animal agriculture
  • And a whopping 51% are staying vegan!

These results have inspired us to move quickly into our next phase, the Try Vegan, Stay Vegan campaign.

This new focus allows us to continue the momentum of January and engage with past participants, as well as extending our reach and communicating with those who are not yet familiar with veganism.

We’ll continue to promote the benefits of a plant-based diet in relation to reducing animal suffering, protecting the environment, and improving people’s health throughout the year, before switching into full campaign mode in November. This website will also continue to provide and grow the vital practical resources to help maintain a vegan lifestyle.

What’s next?

With current patterns looking set to continue, we’re expecting more than 50,000 participants in 2016, and have plans to translate this website into a number of languages.

We’ll be making official announcements in regards to the 2016 media and official launches over the next few months, so please keep checking in with us regularly.

Veganuary 2016 is going to be the best yet!
