Vegan Dining Month Takes Over Portland and Las Vegas

As Veganuary continues to take the US by storm, more cities than ever are getting themselves on the map for vegan eating! Of particular note are Las Vegas, Nevada and Portland, Oregon, where Vegan Dining Month is back and better than ever this year!

Diana Edelman of Vegans, Baby first launched Vegan Dining Month in Las Vegas in response to Restaurant Week. “I wanted to support it,” said Edelman, “but there were no vegan restaurants participating and not a single restaurant that was participating offered any vegan options. So, I decided I would start my own.” There proved to be too many vegan options in Vegas to fit into a single week, so the idea for Vegan Dining Month was born — and what better time for it to take place than during Veganuary? “I chose to do it during Veganuary because the whole mission of Vegans, Baby is to make vegan food approachable and accessible, and there was a huge misconception that going vegan means you can’t go out to eat or eat good food. I figured doing it during Veganuary would help those taking the challenge to find even more vegan food in Las Vegas and also get people who are already vegan excited to support these restaurants during a month that promotes veganism.” Vegan Dining Month has since expanded to Portland, Oregon and dipped its toes in San Diego, California, plus there are plans to add even more cities to the list for 2023!

VEGAN DINING POPULARITY

People are becoming increasingly interested in vegan eating, which is not expected to slow anytime soon. Vegan Dining Month is proof that businesses are taking notice! “Businesses reach out to me to participate before I get to them, and they’re excited about being a part of the program,” says Edelman. “I love seeing so many vegan-friendly restaurants really embrace Vegan Dining Month and understand the value and importance of adding vegan dishes to their menus.” Don’t have a Vegan Dining Month in your town? No problem! Veganuary also works with national restaurants and retailers to get even more vegan options on menus and shelves near you.
