Every January, retailers vie with one another to bring out more, bigger, and better vegan products and menus to capitalize on the huge popularity of Veganuary. But our work with businesses takes place year-round! From large multinational corporations to smaller street retailers, we offer support and promote their increased production of delicious animal-free items. In 2023, more than 1,610 new vegan products and menu options were launched during the month.
Sixty-two percent, or 79 million, U.S. households are now buying plant-based products according to SPINS. This represents a huge opportunity for brands, restaurants, and retailers to launch new plant-based options, and Veganuary has become a key marketing moment for new vegan product launches.
Some of the launches that have made a big splash since the US campaign launched are Pokeworks’ vegan Omni Musubi, Blue Sushi Sake Grill’s new vegan sushi rolls, Magnum’s vegan mini ice cream bars, Mellow Mushroom’s vegan menu, and new vegan cookie flavors at Insomnia Cookies. Expect to see more major launches coming to the US soon!
Our corporate collaborations are making plant-based foods so prevalent and so delicious that it is now easier than ever for anyone to choose vegan options. We are expanding this work around the globe!
Our work with businesses doesn’t stop at product and menu collaborations, we also encourage them to run a Veganuary Workplace Challenge in January. In 2023 several large and influential US businesses, including Aveda, Lam Research, and Loyola Marymount University took part and encouraged their staff to try vegan for January as well as additional activities including educational programming and providing more vegan options in staff cafeterias.
