Method

Akki Rotti:

  • Take a flat plate or big bowl to knead the dough.
  • Add all the above ingredients to the plate and mix well.
  • Lastly add the warm water, initially one cup of it and mix well using a ladle. If needed add some more warm water to the dough and make it soft, thick dough consistency.
  • Let it sit for 15-20 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into small golf ball-sized portions.
  • Roll the balls out into round rotis.
  • Heat a tawa and grease it with a little oil.
  • Cook the rotis on both sides for two minutes.

Peanut chutney:

  • Add the above ingredients to a blender with ½ cup water and blend to thick paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add the seasoning of urat dal, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, red chilies, curry leaves.
  • Add the above paste to the pan and cook for few minutes.
  • Cook until semi-solid consistency. Do not add too much water while blending.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with any vegetable or stir-fried black-eyed dal as shown in the image.
