Ingredients

½ cup toor dal, pressure
cooked
2 cups thick and fresh coconut
milk
1 cup spinach, chopped
Spices:
(All roasted and ground to fine
paste)
1 tsp coriander seeds
1 tsp ginger, chopped finely
½ tsp black pepper powder
2 amla
Seasoning:
½ tsp urad dal
½ tsp cumin seeds
½ tsp mustard seeds
2 whole dry red chilies

Who said vegans can’t enjoy kadi? Try this coconut milk version with rice and your favourite vegetable for a complete meal.

Method

1. Heat the pan and add seasoning of urad dal, cumin
seeds, mustard seeds and red chilies. Roast for 30 seconds.
2. Add spinach to the seasoning and spices paste and cook
for a few minutes.
3. Lastly add the cooked toor dal and coconut milk and mix
well. Cook for five minutes.
4. Serve with rice.
