PACHI PULUSU (RAW TAMARIND RASAM)

Ingredients

1 onion, finely chopped
½ cup tamarind juice
1 tsp jaggery powder
4 tsp sesame powder
2 tsp fresh coriander leaves
Himalayan salt
¼ tsp red chili powder
Seasoning:
½ tsp urad dal
½ tsp cumin seeds
½ tsp mustard seeds
2 whole dry red chilies
¼ tsp hing
5 curry leaves

Tangy and refreshing recipe from Andhra-Telangana which is a perfect accompaniment with rice.

Method

1. Heat a pan and roast the seasoning of urad dal, cumin
seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves, chilies and hing
for 30 seconds.
2. Take a bowl add all the above items and seasoning with 1
½ cups water. Mix well.
3. This rasam is consumed cold and raw, with rice. If you
prefer it warm, you can heat it, but do not boil.
