Ingredients

2 cups ragi flour
2 cups drumstick leaves
1 cup grated carrots
1 cup onions, finely chopped
3 tsp fresh coconut, grated
3 tsp sesame seeds
Pinch of turmeric powder
Red chili powder and Himalayan salt, for taste

Try this jazzed up version of a classic Tamil recipe.

Method

  • Make the dough by mixing the above ingredients with necessary water and make moist thick dough.
  • Make lemon-sized balls with the dough.
  • For each dough ball, grease a pan and press it flat on the pan using your hand.
  • Wet your hand while pressing the dough on the tawa.
  • Make a round and thin roti, pour a little oil and cook on both sides till it is slightly crisped, while covered on medium heat.
  • Enjoy it with coconut chutney.
