The Rise of the High Street Vegan

– 150% increase in sales of vegan dishes in the last year –
– 30,000 vegan dishes sold already in 2017-

Italian restaurant chain Zizzi reports a 150% increase in sales of its vegan mains as diners continue to embrace Veganaury. Vegan dishes, once considered niche, are now accepted and enjoyed up and down the country.

Zizzi reports that January 2017 is set to be its strongest ever for vegan and vegetarian dishes. With best selling vegan dishes including the award winning Vegan Rustica Margherita pizza, the Vegan Spaghetti Pomodoro and the Vegan Lentil Ragu, Veganaury looks to have firmly hit the high street.

Since launching the vegan menu early last year the restaurant has seen sales of vegan dishes more than doubled and now offers 9 vegan dishes and a range of vegan wines. Marketing Director Jo Fawcett commented ‘We are so pleased our vegan menu has been such a hit with diners. The dishes are so great that we’re seeing people who aren’t even committed vegans choose them. Our customers now want more choice and flexibility so we are continuously evolving our menus, including our Vegan offering, with more new dishes launching in March”.
