Lucy Watson, chef Alexis Gauthier & actor Famke Janssen join the campaign
7th December 2022: Veganuary – the global campaign to try vegan for January and beyond – is using humour, hummus and hope in ads proclaiming that positive change is possible by signing up to try vegan for January as registration for Veganuary 2023 opens today.
The eye-catching ads pay homage to previous movements inspiring action for a better world (click the links to download):
The campaign is joined by new ambassadors Lucy Watson, Made in Chelsea star and influencer; Alexis Gauthier, French chef and owner of Gauthier Soho; and Famke Janssen, star of X-Men and Taken, as it celebrates the 10th anniversary of Veganuary and the seismic shift in Britain’s food landscape it helped fuel.
Reflecting on her decision to be an ambassador for the campaign, Lucy Watson says: “Loving animals and eating them too never made sense to me; that’s why I went veggie aged six and then later turned to veganism. It was the best decision I’ve ever made, and I’ve enjoyed it so much more than I could have ever expected. It feels good to do the right thing. I know it can be a daunting prospect for some, Veganuary is here to help guide you.”
Alexis Gauthier echoes that sentiment, saying: “Going vegan in 2016 was one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself, so I decided to share that joy the best way I knew how – by turning my whole fine-dining restaurant fully vegan, too. This January, you can experience that same joy for yourself by trying veganism – it’s healthy, it’s delicious, and it’s an act of kindness to this planet and the amazing creatures we share it with. All you have to do is give it a try!”

“Many of us could use a little hope right now,” says Toni Vernelli, Veganuary’s Head of Communications. “But hope is more than just wishful thinking – it’s taking steps that lead to the changes we want to see. Participating in Veganuary is a powerful way to start the year off with positive action, no matter what your resolution.”
