Hard Rock Cafe, Veg Society of DC, Ben’s Chili Bowl, and more celebrate Veganuary in D.C.

Washington D.C.-based restaurants promote Veganuary in their 2024 menus to encourage more people to try vegan in the new year

(Washington, D.C. – January 8, 2024) – Restaurants throughout Washington, D.C. are offering promotions and plant-based specials all month long to celebrate Veganuary 2024, the global campaign that encourages people to try vegan in January and beyond. This year, Veganuary celebrated the kickoff of its January 2024 campaign in D.C. with billboards at bike sharing stations near Dupont Circle and George Washington University and broadcast ads in the DC DMA. The bright and thought-provoking ads encourage locals to try vegan for the benefit of health, animals, and the planet.

Every January, businesses around the world are launching more, bigger, and better vegan menus to capitalize on the huge popularity of Veganuary. This year, the Veg Society of DC and DC Vegan partnered to celebrate the launch of Veganuary at the Botanical Bar on Jan. 6 with a special Veganuary mocktail, the Green Queen, and an exciting new vegan steak from Chunk Foods. “The Veg Society of DC is thrilled to participate in the growing world-wide Veganuary movement which has inspired and supported millions of people to try vegan since 2014”, says Elissa Free, VP of Veg Society of DC.

A new study conducted by YouGov on behalf of Veganuary reported that 71%* of all US adults are hoping to eat more vegetables in 2024. Veganuary is working with restaurants nationwide to help meet this demand with more inventive preparations of plant-based dishes and more choice overall.

By choosing to keep animals off our plates and embracing a plant-based lifestyle, we can create a more sustainable future for all living beings while reducing our ecological footprint. If you’re curious about what veganism is all about, sign up for the Veganuary challenge and join millions of people like myself who are making a positive impact.”

Veganuary aims to help people who are curious about eating vegan by providing free recipes, shopping tips, restaurant guides, and meal plans. Major national and regional brands, retailers, and restaurants have joined Veganuary by offering promotions, giveaways, and special menu items, viewable on Veganuary’s Special Offers page, while creating specialized marketing campaigns for plant-based products.
