Want to make your business or workplace healthier, happier and help the planet? The Veganuary Workplace Challenge is a fun way to do all of this (and more)!
The Veganuary Workplace Challenge is a 31-day pledge that encourages your workforce to try vegan for the month of January.
It’s a simple ask: staff challenge themselves to eat a purely plant-based diet for one month, with a huge payoff!
You’ll receive lots of free support, access to meal plans, special offers and resources to support you along the way.
Collectively taking part in Veganuary is great for team morale and unites everyone in a shared experience and challenge.
In January 2024, 300 organisations worldwide took part in the Veganuary Workplace Challenge, encouraging their employees to try vegan in January and providing more vegan options in the workplace.
In many cases, leading by example, CEOs and other senior executives and team leaders take part too!
Plant-based diets have proven health benefits, including increased energy levels (good for productivity), lower cholesterol levels and lower blood pressure.
Some of the benefits of encouraging your team to take part include:

Here’s what people are saying about the Workplace Challenge:
“The University of Exeter is committed to building a greener, healthier and fairer future. Encouraging our 37,000 staff and students to participate in Veganuary and eat a more plant-based diet is a great step towards achieving our vision and net zero goals.”
“For the fourth year, we proudly supported Veganuary, helping consumers, partners, and employees to embrace plant-based choices. Our multi-channel campaign, spanning 9 markets, reached millions. We collaborated with major brands and independent restaurants to showcase the diverse vegan options available on our platform and offered customers exclusive deals. Additionally, we launched a workplace well-being challenge, equipping colleagues with tools to help make more informed choices such as carbon labelling dishes in our Amsterdam office canteen.”
“Every year, I enthusiastically engage in Veganuary to explore innovative plant-based dishes, and the experience has been truly enriching. I’ve had the opportunity to witness the positive influence of Veganuary on our residents. They’ve not only enjoyed sampling vegan cuisine but have also expressed a desire for more vegan-related activities throughout the year. Veganuary goes beyond food; it embodies a commitment to personal well-being and sustainability.”
“At Superdrug, we are so excited to be supporting the Veganuary Workplace Challenge this year. As a business, we care deeply about our continued commitment to initiatives such as Veganuary, our vegan and cruelty-free offering, CSR strategy and being the go-to place on the high street for vegan products. We are pleased that our customers can confidently shop with us for products that are not only high quality, but align with their ethics and purchasing priorities.”
“I am delighted that we have pledged to get involved with the Veganuary initiative. We already offer our inpatients and staff an extensive vegan menu, and throughout the month, we will be promoting a variety of vegan meals in our onsite restaurant with the aim to encourage as many people as possible to try vegan options.”
“We’re delighted to be taking part in a Veganuary Workplace Challenge again, for the third consecutive year. We know that many of our people are looking for help to eat a more plant-based diet, that’s good for both nature and their health. Veganuary provides a great opportunity for us to showcase delicious dishes whilst highlighting the environmental impact of our dietary choices.”
“We’re on board with Veganuary! What a great way to inspire, support and encourage EY people to consider a plant-based diet. Considering meat and dairy free is one of the ways our individual choices can help in Building a Better Working World. I’m looking forward to the challenge!”
“Last year, 550 PwC people took part in the formal Veganuary Workplace Challenge, whilst many more tried plant-based options as part of a flexitarian approach. With so many people in the UK now concerned about climate change, it’s an easy step for companies to take, to both reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase employee engagement.”
