Here is another Italian restaurant flying the flag for vegans!

Aside from the lovely olive, bread and piccante nuts to nibble on, there are three starters – a new Tuscan Bean Soup, dough balls and bruschetta. You can ask for three toppings for your pizza and they offer a dairy-free mozzarella to go on top.

There are also delicious pastas to choose from: Spaghetti Al Pomodoro; fettucine with courgettes and chilli, topped with olive tapenade; aubergine fettucine; and a new Spaghetti Bolognese (a mixed vegetable and lentil ragu). There are some lovely sides too, including a Mixed Grain Salad and Roast Charlotte Potatoes. They even do a kids’ starter, pasta and pizza making it a great family choice.

Yes, they do desserts! A choice of sorbet flavours or the indulgent Blood Orange & Chocolate Tart. Great work Ask Italian!

    Almonds, cashews, crispy corn kernels, chickpeas.
  • Italian Olives
    Large green Nocellara olives from Sicily.
  • Rosemary and Sea Salt Bread
    You can add olive tapenade or spicy tomato dip to this meal.

Starters

  • Baked Dough Balls
    Baked dough balls with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
  • Bruschetta
    Toasted Pagnotta bread with marinated tomatoes, fresh basil.

    Under 200 calories

Pizza

  • Prima Pizza (gluten or non-gluten) with vegan mozzarella and 4 toppings
    Add 3 toppings to a tomato and vegan mozzarella alternative base.
    Choose from: Marinated Artichokes, Sautéed mushrooms, Grilled aubergines, Caramelised onions, Roasted peppers and Olives.
  • Prima Zucca Zucca
    Butternut squash two ways; squash purée on the base and squash on top with balsamic red onions, roquito pepper pearls, spinach, pumpkin seeds and vegan mozzarella alternative.

Pasta

  • Spaghetti al Pomodoro
    Santos tomatoes, garlic and fresh basil in a rich tomato sauce.
  • Penne Arrabiata
    Penne pasta in a fiery rich tomato and basil sauce.
  • Fettucine con Melanzane
    Flat ribbon pasta with grilled aubergines in a rich tomato, garlic and basil sauce.
  • Fettucine con Verdure
    Flat ribbon pasta with courgettes, oven-roasted tomatoes and spinach, seasoned with chilli and garlic, and topped with olive tapenade.
  • Spaghetti Lentil Ragu
    Mixed vegetable and lentil ragu.

Salad

  • Lentil Grain Salad
    Lentils, spelt and orzo pasta; tomatoes, cucumber and rocket, topped with asparagus and flavoured with parsley and mint.

Sides

  • Mixed Salad
    Served with sweet mustard dressing.

  • Roast Charlotte Potatoes
  • Rainbow Salad
    Candy stripe beetroot, yellow courgettes, Santos tomatoes, cucumber, red pepper, mixed leaves, radish, pine nuts, and a sweet mustard dressing on the side.

    Two scoops of Italian speciality sorbets, choose from Raspberry, Mango or Lemon.
  • Blood Orange and Chocolate Torte with Raspberry Sorbet
    Zesty dark chocolate tart with a nut and date base, served with tangy raspberry sorbet. This won the Sweet Taste award from PETA!
