Probably most famous for her role as ‘Blossom’ in the hit television series of the 1990s, and most recently starring in ‘Big Bang Theory’, a show commissioned by CBS in America.
As well as being a television star, Mayim Bialik completed her doctorate in neuroscience in 2007 and wrote the cookbook ‘Mayim’s Vegan Table: More than 100 Great-Tasting and Healthy Recipes from My Family to Yours’ which was published in 2014.
In a recent interview with Vegetarian Times, she stated that the book Eating Animals by Jonathon Safran Foer was the inspiration for a move from vegetarianism to veganism, something which she had been working toward for some time.
In the same interview, when talking about the biggest challenges of raising ‘veg’ kids she replied
‘For me, it’s trying to find the balance between giving age-appropriate information to children and letting them come to an awareness about food on their own. I don’t want them to feel superior or deprived.’
