Carol J. Adams is an American writer, feminist, and animal rights advocate.
Probably most well known for writing the book ‘The Sexual Politics of Meat: A Feminist-Vegetarian Critical Theory’ which was published in 1990. Carol Adams says about the book
‘It’s been called “ground-breaking” and “pioneering” (interesting how our description of books draws from our invasive relationship to the land). Many say it is an underground classic, which I guess means that lots of people know and love it, but it goes unnoticed by the dominant media.’
In 2011 Carol Adams was listed in the U.S. Animal Rights Hall of Fame, which recognises individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of animal rights in the United States for at least ten years.
