Wakame Salad

Vegan wakame salad

This wakame salad is an easy, versatile dish you can make in a hurry. It goes particularly well with chilled skinny soba somen noodles.

You can also serve it as a delicious side dish or simply add it to miso soups.

¼ cup wakame flakes

3 cups mixed salad leaves

1 tbsp mirin

2 tbsp shoyu soya sauce

Juice from ½ lemon


  • Soak the dried wakame flakes in warm water for 10 minutes to soften.
  • Drain and squeeze out any excess water.
  • Combine the wakame in a bowl with the other ingredients (including the mirin and shoyu soya sauce) and sprinkle with white sesame seeds.
