  1. Oil for the pan
  2. 1 block firm tofu, cubed
  3. 1 Tbsp black pepper, cracked
  4. 1/2 tsp black pepper, fine grind
  5. Salt, to taste
  6. Sriracha, as much as you can handle
  7. Green herbs like cilantro (coriander) or basil

Some days, the best food is what’s easiest to make. When you’ve had a long day or just don’t feel like following a bunch of steps, this one’s for you. You gotta be into spicy for this super hot tofu!


  1. Preheat oven to 400C.
  2. Get a frying pan wicked hot, add some oil to coat the bottom of it.
  3. Dust both sides of tofu with liberal amounts of pepper, pinch of salt and sear on each side until golden and crisp.
  4. Place the entire pan into the oven and bake for five minutes.
  5. Serve with as much sriracha as you can handle and garnish with fresh herbs.
