Veganuary campaign bus takes to London’s streets with political message
26th December 2023: Chris Packham, Johnny Marr and Bimini Bon Boulash are urging Brits to ‘Vote for Veggies this January’ in new photos released today by Veganuary – the global campaign to try vegan for January and beyond. They are joined by Jasmine Harman, Peter Egan and MAFS’ Jenna Robinson
The stars are reminding Brits they need not wait until the general election to cast a vote for a greener planet, lower food bills and better health – we can all do it today by signing up to try vegan this January with Veganuary. The campaign forms part of Veganuary’s plan to showcase the OG of vegan products – vegetables, fruits, legumes, grains, nuts and other plants in 2024.

This follows hot on the heels of Veganuary’s ‘Vote for Veggies’ campaign bus hitting the streets of London. Boldly emblazoned with ‘Lettuce: Stronger, More Stable, In the National Interest’ and ‘Flavour: For the Many, Not the Few’ the bus gives a cheeky nod to the main parties’ slogans in the last election while urging everyone to take direct action for a better future now by signing up for Veganuary.

Veganuary’s International Head of Policy and Communications, Toni Vernelli, says:
“While much of Britain is rightly focused on the next general election and how it will impact issues that affect them, Veganuary is issuing a reminder that we need not wait to cast a vote for a greener planet, lower food bills and better health for our families – plants can do all of this! By Voting for Veggies this January and signing up for Veganuary, everyone can take direct action on these critical issues. No protests, prison sentences or politicians required.”
Everyone who registers for Veganuary 2024 via the charity’s website will receive the Vote for Veggies manifesto – Seven Days of Revolutionary Recipes to help them take direct action for the planet, their health and animals at every meal. Highlights include Woke-or-Not Tofu Scramble, Coalition Chickpea Curry, Peasful Protest Pasta and Fuel the Future Fajitas.
