Tara McDonald is a singer / songwriter signed to Play Two, Warner Music, originally from Dartford, Kent. A vegetarian for most of her adult life, Tara became vegan last year after meeting a Buddhist monk in Sri Lanka who was vegan. Tara calls plant based food a "good karma diet". She is an ambassador for the vegan/vegetarian restaurant guide website HappyCow.
Tara is also a straight ally for the LGBTQ community, she was the ambassador for Paris Pride in France 2014 and her cover of "I Need A Miracle" was chosen as the Europride anthem in 2016. She is also a proud feminist. Tara started singing at 9 years old in Les Miserables, became a child ambassador for UNICEF after winning The Danny Kaye Award (a European song competition for children) hosted by Audrey Hepburn.
Tara was a backing singer for Eric Clapton, Bryan Ferry, and Ringo Starr, before co-writing and featuring on "Feel The Vibe (Til the Morning Comes)" by dance DJ Axwell, scoring her her first top 20 UK hit. Next came collaborations with Armand Van Helden on the hit single "My My MY" and worked with David Guetta on the single they co wrote "Delirious" from the platinum selling "Pop Life" album. She appeared as a co-coach on the first season of The Voice in Belgium in 2012. She won best voice of dance scene in France and China in 2012. Snoop Dogg featured on her "Vay K" record in 2014. She even posed on the front cover for Playboy magazine in a special music edition.
