Veganuary Hires the Ultimate Data-Driven Vegan

Welcoming Simon

When Matthew and I started Veganuary, we just had a vision, a small band of volunteers, a supportive dog, and a front room office.

Since the first January campaign in 2014, Veganuary has grown and grown. In the last four years we’ve inspired and supported over 100,000 people to try a vegan lifestyle for a month. This year over 67% of participants said they were staying vegan, which has spared the lives of 14 million animals and improved the health of over 97% of survey respondents.

With a growing number of staff, higher than ever media exposure and with a growing buzz around veganism – which we take some credit for – this feels like the right time to appoint the first ever Chief Executive of Veganuary. We’re ready to grow further, and to do that we need the right people, to take us from a grass roots campaign to a professional charity.

So I’m thrilled to welcome our new Chief Executive, Simon Winch. Simon has a long track record in charity management. He’s creative, results-driven, and of course a great vegan advocate.

We’re sure that the Veganuary community will give him a great welcome, and we know he’s really looking forward to getting stuck in.

Simon will be posting his thoughts on the blog every now again, and you can also find him on Twitter and Facebook.

In kindness,

Jane and Matthew
