Emmerdale star James, who has been a Veganuary ambassador since January 2020, is encouraging everyone to take part this January, saying: “I’m vegan all year round but if you give it a go in January you will help the planet, animals, and especially your health. What do you have to lose?”
Former Eastenders and Ridley Rd star Danny is backing Veganuary for the first time this year, saying: “Veganuary is such a brilliant idea. One whole month of challenging yourself to try different delicious foods, all whilst lowering your carbon footprint, dramatically improving your health, and literally saving lives. You’re not just doing a challenge, you’re being a hero.”
Hollyoaks’ Eva O’Hara has also joined Veganuary’s campaign for the first time this year.
They join Eastender’s Kellie Bright who has been a Veganuary supporter for many years. Kellie, who recently gave birth to her third child, is urging people to try vegan this January for the planet, saying: ‘My children deserve a future and so do yours. If you care about climate change, make a difference and do Veganuary.”
Other stars backing Veganuary this year include Joanna Lumley, Benjamin Zephaniah, Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden and Jasmine Harman.
Photos and quotes from these celebrities are available here.
More than 582,000 people from 209 countries and territories officially took part in Veganuary last year and campaigners expect this year to be even bigger as climate change is at the forefront of everyone’s mind.
